Dr. Elizabeth McKinnis grew up in Norwalk, CT, attending Brien McMahon High School and then doing her undergraduate work at Yale University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and with Distinction in the Major with a Bachelor of Arts in English.  After working for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington, she went on to get her medical degree at the University of Washington in Seattle.  She completed Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Washington, stayed on to be Chief Resident, and then joined the faculty at the University of Washington Women’s Clinic.  She moved back to Connecticut in 2003 to be closer to family.  Dr. McKinnis had a thriving practice in Fairfield and Westport, prior to joining our group in January 2015.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. McKinnis is a member of the American College of Physicians, the professional group for the specialty of internal medicine, where she has served most recently on the planning committee for the Connecticut annual meeting in 2016. She is also a member of the American Medical Association, Fairfield County Medical Association, and the Fairfield County Women in Medicine chapter of the American Association of Women in Medicine.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Westport-Weston Family Y.

In her leisure time, Dr. McKinnis loves spending time with her husband and their four children, as well as traveling, swimming, playing tennis and curling up with a good book.
